Project Overview

Cambridge Spark is seeking an independent, high-calibre GenAI & Automation Delivery Consultant (Project Basis) to deliver hands-on technical instruction and workflow automation scoping services for our corporate education products.

This is a project-based contract engagement to deliver training as part of our professional education programmes. The successful consultant will act as an external specialist, bridging the gap between technical capability and business value by leading defined workstreams.

The project is remote / UK-based (with project-specific onsite delivery in London, Cambridge and client sites as required).

Key Deliverables & Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for delivering the following outcomes:

  • Workflow Automation Workshops: Design and facilitate engaging, hands-on technical sessions enabling project learners to build and deploy practical AI workflows using GenAI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, Gemini) and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, n8n, Zapier).
  • Advanced Prompt Engineering & Architecture: Deliver deep-dive technical instruction covering topics such as system prompts, prompt chaining and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Content & Resource Refinement: Utilise allocated project time to provide technical feedback on curriculum resources, build practical automation scenarios, and update tool-stack materials in line with industry changes.

Required Expertise & Capabilities

To successfully deliver this project, the independent consultant/services provider must demonstrate:

Essential Criteria

  • Low-Code & Automation Mastery: A proven track record of building and teaching automated workflows using at least one of Power Automate, n8n, or Zapier
  • Enterprise GenAI Proficiency: A proven track record of designing and building agents in at least one of Microsoft Copilot 365, Claude (including Claude Code) and Gemini Enterprise.
  • AI Knowledge Architectures: A strong conceptual and practical understanding of how AI connects to organisational data, including vector search spaces, context windows, chunking strategies, and RAG architectures.
  • Business Analysis & ROI Tracking: Proven capability to convey process mapping, value stream re-engineering, and the financial calculation of automation ROI to non-technical business professionals.

Desirable Criteria

  • Scripting & Custom Integrations: Functional capability in Python scripting to guide advanced project learners through custom developer integrations and basic data manipulation.
  • LLMOps & Governance Frameworks: Familiarity with operationalising AI safely, including guardrail implementations, PII filtering, human-in-the-loop design, and GDPR compliance.
  • Professional Facilitation Credentials: A formal teaching or training qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent), or substantial enterprise facilitation experience.

Contractual Nature of the Engagement

This engagement is for a specific, project-based outcome and is open to independent contractors, freelancers, or boutique consultancies operating via a Limited Company or appropriate vehicle.

  • Autonomy: The consultant will have full control over how, when, and where they deliver the outcomes, subject to meeting client project milestones.
  • Substitution: The right of substitution applies, provided the substitute possesses equivalent skills and qualifications to meet the project deliverables.
  • Equipment: The consultant is expected to provide their own equipment and tools necessary to complete the assignment.
  • Commercial Conflicts: The services provider must not provide identical or similar AI workflow automation training or delivery services to direct competitors of Cambridge Spark for the duration of this project.
